1984 by george orwell. help please?
Basically, Orwell depicts a society in which there is no "right" or "wrong." There is only Big Brother. This is best illustrated by the statements: "War is Peace -- Freedom is Slavery -- Ignorance is Strength." By showing how the Party manipulates society so that there is no thought or conscience, Orwell explains the problems with totalitarianism and the absolute rule of any one person or group. The Party has built a society in which there is no truth. Anything and everything is fiction, which can be edited at any time by the ironically named Ministry of Truth. People can be made to have never existed. A war can be won or lost with a few simple words spoken into a Speakwrite.
