My friend and I need some advice with this World of Warcraft question please!?

So me and my friend about half a year ago created our characters and got them to lvl 30 then he got off for a while and now he is back on and wanting to play. I haven't played with my druid in a good while, so I made a test character to play with him. The test im trying to do with this character is to see how far I can get him in one month. I sort of felt like I was dissing my druid and my friend by doing this, but he says it's fine but my mind still can't decide on sticking with my druid or sticking with my tester. Please help!
