Which is would be worse for you personally regarding Colonization?

If I had to choose, I would have to pick being part of the latter generations. Experiencing the ruthlessness with which indigenous populations have been suppressed and persecuted is not something I would enjoy enduring. Hopefully, I could be part of a generation that has melded with the colonizing population and therefore avoid the discrimination and the various horrors experienced during the first stages of colonization where the invading force seeks to ert its authority and dominance. I might not know my heritage, but I would have a better chance of rising higher in society and therefore discovering my roots through those means.
