What do you think of my story so far?
I lay half awake in the middle of a crowded clroom, and like everyone else, waiting for the clock to hit two forty five. It was the last day of school until we all were set free to enjoy our summer vacation. Across the room sat one of my two best friends Chelsea Socorro, whose almond shaped eyes were fixed to the clock at the front of the room. The tension rose within every second, and soon enough I could hear every noise: fingers tapping impatiently on desks, sighs of annoyance, shuffling of people squirming in their seats, and before long it became unbearable. I sat slumped in my seat starring into my math teacher, whose name is Mr. Kenwood’s eyes. Although my gaze never left his wrinkled face, no words seemed to come out of his mouth, although I am positive that he was giving another boring lecture. Finally a bell sounded and immediately chairs screeched, cheers echoed throughout the school, and all I did was slowly pack up my brown and pink paisley backpack and headed towards Chelsea’s desk. Chelsea had been my best friend since seventh grade, but it felt like I have known her my whole entire life, she was like a long lost sister I never had. Even though she understood me more than any other person in the world, we were complete opposites. While Chelsea was outgoing, and bubbly, I preferred to be more shy and conservative. Chelsea came hurrying toward me her normally small mouth was spread out into a wide smile. “Audrey! Aren’t you so excited? Summer is finally here!” she squealed. Her arms widespread above her head. I was about to agree, but she continued “We are so going to have the best summer ever! Just imagine, the beach, shopping, cute guys…” she rambled on her list while gesturing counting on her fingers. When she finally finished I quickly go a word in “yeah, I know I’m pretty excited” She linked her arm around mine and happily skipped out of the clroom her chestnut long brown hair flowing as she did so. I wondered how my boring flat dark auburn hair looked compared to hers, no where near as pretty that was for sure.
